When I compiled my first Durkin's Dragons book, the dragon on the very first page was this one:
I drew him one day a while ago just for fun. I liked him so much I kept drawing dragons until I had enough for a book. I'm not obsessed with dragons at all, they're just one of the many thousands of things I like to draw. At least that's what I thought...

My mom sent me a few things to remind me of my lifelong interest in dragons. The first picture is of a dragon costume I made, probably when I was about 12 years old or so. I think one of my sisters had the task of being the rear end.
The second pic is of my old pinewood derby cars from when I was in Boy Scouts.
Note the dragon on the green one!
